Navigating the Relationship Between our Human and our Soul

Powerful Way of Boosting Energy and Enhancing Well-being

“The energy of the mind is the essence of life.”

-Aristotle

All of life is made up of energy. Human beings are no different. When we think something, whether positive or negative, our thoughts direct the brain to secrete particular chemicals in the body. When we focus our attention on negative thoughts and are stressed out, the brain secretes cortisol, adrenaline, and other hormones that shut us down emotionally, readying us for action, to either flee, fight or hide.

However, human beings have a gift that no other animal has. We have the gift of imagination. We have the ability to think. We have the ability to look into the past and into the future and are able to be conscious of being present. So, what happens when we are hooked to thoughts from the past that make us feel bad? Yep, we bring those bad feelings into our present moment, assuring that our future will turn out exactly the same.

From Energy Drain to Energy Gain:

Can we free up the energy that we are carrying from the past? Yes, of course, we can. We have imaginations, remember. Because we have the gift of of our imagination, we can focus and move energy, like a magician.

As human beings, it’s up to us to harness and manage our energy so that we can feel happy and joyful, filled with possibilities. I call that living a Yummy Delicious Life. The tricky part is that sometimes we invest so much energy in thoughts from the past that it makes us feel bad, that we don’t have enough
energy left for the good stuff to come in. Consequently, there’s a good chance that our tomorrows will be precisely the same as our yesterdays and today.

Why do you suppose this happens? Don’t we all want to live happy and joyful lives? Of course, we do, and here’s where the mystical meets science.

When our energy is sucked up by thoughts that make us feel bad, there’s no room for something good to enter. We have to MOVE energy, and that is focusing on something that makes us feel better, eventually
good, and ultimately becoming GREAT! When we don’t, the body becomes accustomed to the chemicals from those thoughts, and a pattern kicks in. To make things even worse, the body becomes addicted to the chemicals the brain is secreting. That’s right, ADDICTED!

The body then becomes like a body snatcher who takes over, and our energy is sucked into a wormhole of repeating the same thought patterns and behaviors over and over, even creating experiences that “prove” the negative thoughts, whatever they may be. So, how do we get out of the worm hole?

Redirecting Energy for Positive Transformation

We first need to observe what we are experiencing. Once we observe what we are experiencing, we can become aware of focusing our energy in a different direction. When we focus our attention on what we WANT in life, the brain begins to secrete other chemicals that are positive in nature, like serotonin, dopamine, endorphins, and oxytocin, the good feeling hormones.

When we reaffirm a reality that makes us feel bad, we reaffirm our addiction to suffering and negativity. When all of our energy is tied up in someone or something where we point the finger out, then there’s a pretty good chance that tomorrow we will create the same thing as we did in the past. Why would we do that? We do that when we are not conscious. Once we are aware of these things, we can choose to select other kinds of thoughts that actually make us feel good. What a concept, eh?

So, if you spend more time than you’d like on thoughts that bring you down, think again, recalibrate and just start contemplating things you’d like to incorporate into your life. What have you got to lose? Just a bunch of old thoughts that don’t serve you anymore. You’re worth the effort. It’s your life. Enjoy the journey. And remember to bring love into everything you do… and lots and lots of humor!
