“If there were one word that could act as a standard of conduct for one’s entire life, perhaps it would be ‘thoughtfulness’.”
-Confucius
BEing thoughtful is so much fun for the giver and the receiver! I don’t know about you, but I love being thoughtful, and when I’m not able to be as thoughtful as I would like, I am reminded that I could be even more thoughtful. It feels so great when I’m thinking of someone I love, preparing something special for them… even before the moment they see what I’ve done. I just love seeing them happy and delighted, and I get filled up during the process.
It doesn’t cost anything to be thoughtful and the reward is priceless! If you are married, or have a partner, or have kids, or anyone else living with you, tuck some love notes in their pockets or lunch boxes, letting them know you are thinking about them. This is a way to show them that you are not taking them for granted. Call someone you haven’t spoken to in a while. Reach out and say hello or show up for a friend at a surprise lunch, like we did for Chris. All the things you do will bring such joy to the person you are thinking about, and YOU!
BEing thoughtful is not a weakness.
It’s a strength that not only fills yourself up with love, while you’re doing what you’re doing, with that special person in mind, and it fills the other person up with love too! It’s a double gift!
How many times have you thought about doing something nice for someone, but you got too busy, then the moment was gone? Time is precious. People are precious and being thoughtful is the most precious gesture we can give to one another. Enjoy BEing thoughtful!
Love,
Shelley
